Who we are

Hi, I’m Ashley.

I created this blog to share the realities of living, traveling, and finding joy while navigating life with autoimmune disease.

For many years, my life has been shaped by chronic illness. I live with multiple autoimmune conditions, including Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Sjogren’s Syndrome, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and other complex health challenges. Like many people in the chronic illness community, my journey has been filled with doctor appointments, medication adjustments, and learning how to listen to my body.

But I’ve also learned something important along the way, having chronic illness doesn’t mean life stops. It just means we sometimes have to live it a little differently.

Why I Started This Blog

I started this blog to create the kind of resource I wish I had when my health journey first began.

Living with chronic illness can feel isolating, overwhelming, and unpredictable. Travel, daily routines, and even leaving the house can require careful planning.

Here, I share practical tips and real-life experiences about:
– Traveling with autoimmune disease
– Building everyday “flare kits” to stay prepared
– Managing energy and symptoms while still enjoying life
– Tools, resources, and products that make life easier
– Honest stories from the chronic illness journey

My goal is to show that it is still possible to explore, experience new places, and live a meaningful life, even with unpredictable health.

A Little More About Me

Outside of managing autoimmune disease, I’m someone who loves learning, creating, and planning new adventures.

Some of the things that bring me joy include:
– Traveling and exploring new places
– Spending time with family and friends
– Reading and learning new things
– Crafting and creative projects
– Caring for my animals

I’m also passionate about helping others better understand chronic illness and creating resources that make life a little easier for people navigating similar health journeys.

In addition to my personal experience with chronic illness, I work in healthcare as a diabetes educator. My professional background allows me to approach health topics with both lived experience and medical knowledge.

My Mission

My mission is simple:

To encourage, support, and empower others living with chronic illness to build lives filled with adventure, connection, and possibility.

Chronic illness may change the way we move through the world, but it doesn’t have to take away our curiosity, dreams, or sense of adventure.
